Business networking startup LinkedIn announced it has raised another $22.7 million from SAP, Goldman Sachs, and McGraw Hill. I could see SAP integrating LinkedIn into its product suite — to extend workforces, encourage knowledge sharing, etc.

IBM has spent good money trying to mine and cross pollinate employee’s expertises and interest. So this partnership should be interesting.
Imagine LinkedIn profiles easily accessible via SAP. LinkedIn needs to exploit SAP’s HR module which I think might typically be the orphan module in an ERP suite.
Gatekeepers would be the IT dept and HR folks.
