2063 A.D. was published by General Dynamics in 1963. It contains predictions by scientists, politicians, astronauts and military leaders about the state of space exploration in the year 2063. Proves one thing: it’s really hard to predict 100 years out.

A new search engine — Cuil — launched last night. Its founders are ex Googlers. Michael Arrington has been running a bake off this morning and he says Google wins hands down. But he’s impressed with the performance of this “baby” search engine.

This McCann report says content consumption “outside of websites” has increased 153% in the last 9 months. 53% of users are consuming content outside of a publisher’s site through widgets, RSS readers, social networks and mobile devices. Wow.

Thought provoking piece on brandstreaming — a consistent flow of content created by a brand. Richard asks the right question: Who will care? This may be an opportunity for top brands and especially for brands with fans like Apple, Nike, etc.

One of my compardres (and creative guru) Joel Babbit is starting a company with Chuck Leavell (of The Rollingstones) and other “rock stars” — the Mother Nature Network. It will focus on more action-oriented environmental news and info. Great idea.
