As teenagers’ scores on reading tests have declined, some argue that the Internet is the “enemy.” That’s really hard to believe. Reading on the Internet is like permanently being in a huge library in which you can dig deeper on topics of interest.

Google’s systems that process links on the web hit a milestone recently: 1 trillion (as in 1,000,000,000,000) unique URLs. Later in the post they say they don’t index pages that are replicative so there are actually more than a trillion.

12seconds.tv allows friends and family to record and share short video updates about what they are doing or where they are. You can use a webcam or a cellphone.

Arianna Huffington predicts the slow demise of traditional news reporting. Good video. I first learned of Huffington when she ran against “The Terminator” for Governor of California. She’s built quite an enterprise at The Huffington Post.

Randy Pausch, a professor of computer science at Carnegie Mellon University, passed away last night. His last lecture (written for his kids) is well worth watching.

The Associated Press (AP) announced that 728 AP newspapers have joined its Mobile News Network.

This is funky, but may be interesting to foodies — “cookbook” twitters recipes. Admirable since it is not easy to twitter an entire recipes in less than 140 words. Note the root beer recipe from July 6, hmmmm….
