Google released a new Social Graph API to “make information about the public connections between people on the Web easily available and useful.” Great concept. Or, is this Google’s attempt to dominate the social graph? People won’t let that happen.

Google announced Urchin is now available for download. This is a web analytics product similar to Google Analytics, except you install and manage the software on your own servers. This will end some fighting between IT and web teams.

The average length of time users spend on all of the top three sites is on the slide. Bebo, MySpace and Facebook all took double-digit percentage hits in the last months of 2007. More evidence that social networks are like fashion trends or bars.
