Wilson Tan (& GCI Digital Media) Honored On Direct2Dell
We work with Dell, Nike, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Genentech, Merck, Pioneer and a lot of other great brands on social and digital media initiatives. Like good consultants, we are mostly “behind the scenes” and get our fulfillment by making a difference for our clients and having our invoices paid. The occasional “thanks and way to go” is nice, too.
But this afternoon one of my team received some extraordinary recognition from Lionel Menchaca, the blogger behind Direct2Dell. Wilson Tan (Willie T. for short) and I have been working with Dell for two years on their social media strategies and programs. He and Lionel have had a great and productive relationship since day one. They are both smart, hard working, humble professionals so it’s no surprise.
Lionel sort of calls Wilson his “right hand man” on Direct2Dell. Well, he was my right-hand-man, too, on Dell and other clients! He was a co-founder of our digital media practice. Willie T. is taking off to run the family business like a good Singaporean son should. We’re really going to miss him.
I know I speak for GCI’s entire digital media practice when I say we’re going to miss you, Wilson! I look forward to watching you build your next venture.
Lionel, thanks for the post and for being a real gentleman. I know it means a lot to Wilson and it means a lot to us, too.
