Google bought another mobile social network: Zingku. Wilson Tan and I have been experimenting with a mobile proximity/social app. The results thus far: Two people do not make a “social network,” but I can see a lot of potential for mobile networking.

A paper from AEI-Brookings makes the case that Google’s buyout of DoubleClick gives Google too much power in online advertising. This paper is Microsoft funded, but I know more than a few agency executives who agree wholeheartedly with the point.

BusinessWeek.com’s annual Best of the Web survey is out. Highlights: SparkPeople (health), footnoted (business news). Other than that, there are few surprises.

When I lived in NYC I routinely walked from Brooklyn Heights to Harlem. It was always an adventure. I’m reminded of all this by Dave Sirfry’s photos of NY… sounds like he organized a photowalk. This night shot is an awesome image of the city.
