I’m skeptical about gadgets. While I see their value, I doubt they will go mainstream. Google started sharing data on “weekly pageviews” of gadgets. #1 is a Google Map gadget and it is reporting almost 5m views per week. Impressive if accurate.

In coming months, millions of users of IBM WebSphere will be able to choose from 4,000 existing Google Gadgets services. I can imagine enterprise widgets taking off more quickly than consumer widgets.

USA Today is launching a next gen news site. I’m in London and the BBC and Star TV would argue they are ahead of the curve. Last night watching Star I noticed a scrolling banner that offered an e-mail address for viewers to submit their own content.
