It is a successful shaming tactic that my friends back home generally subscribe to because we are “brought up” to accept the rationality. IMHO, such ironclad ruling w/o public dialog doesn’t nurture mature citizens.
One piggybacker was featured on the front page of the national English newspaper last Dec. IMHO, the news value is not his leaching WiFi but his prank of issuing a fake bomb threat via his neighbor’s network. Unfortunately, the sensationalist headline would lead one to focus on the WiFi piggybacking as the real threat. What’s the thinking behind that?
