Yahoo Employees Back Their CEO

Yahoo had an all-hands (e.g., internal) meeting and some of the employees – like J-Strizzle — are blogging about it.
Very cool.

Sharing the CEO’s remarks at an internal meeting with the external world via your blog is probably well covered by the confidentiality clause in Yahoo’s code of ethics.  My guess is this is a no no.  Having said that, I don’t expect Mr. Strizzle to be the first Yahoo blogger fired for sharing confidential information.  His post is pro-Yahoo and though he did not cross the line into brown nosing the CEO, he got very close.

It will be more interesting to see if some Yahoo employees have the courage to disagree with their CEO (and Strizzle) on their blogs and to post more negative comments.  These folks will likely get calls from HR and then we have a conundrum — when is it “ok” and when is it not “ok.”

By the way, I think Yahoo is a great company that does not get enough credit from Wall Street for its business model.
